It has been philosophised by those who theorised for hours over it, that the end is fairly close. And I have indisputable proof that this is so! Oh yes, I know what your thinking, this man is just another loony ranting and raving about the coming of the end! And you’d be half right! For the end is already here, waiting for us in the places we would least expect. And so, my children, I shall tell you the story of how this disturbing fact was first brought to my attention... It was a dark and stooooormy night! 5 of us, in a Metro (5 door 1.1, tiny thing, couldn’t fit a rat in it without squashing it into a horrid shape first....anyway.....) Our story begins in a Metro, 5 teenagers and a tent, and a lot of food, and a lot of alcohol! Then SUDDENLY!!! The next day was here, the alcohol was reduced greatly and the everyone was crammed back in the car...that’s when it happened! (*dramatic music*)...On the horizon...things were starting to move....innocent they seemed but deadly they are soon to be...they came slowly, sometimes pausing to munch with their drooling fangs at the sodden earth... the sheep, were coming! But wait! They are already here! Straboard got updated. Sorry. All of the info is in site news but if you cant be bothered to go and look (just like I cant to link to it), then just accept that we got updated, all the mods are gone ie the arcade etc so we will have to re-make them or something :) great! O_o (kill me now). There are about 176 mods I'm going to look at over the next few months and install, so just wait a while ok? if you want me to go faster, THEN BLOODY GIVE ME MONEY SO I CAN PAY FOR INVISION AND START INSTALLING MODS/HACKS BEFORE THE DAMN TRIAL RUNS OUT!

Straboard's down, due to the fact that the server is gay. It deleted files up to a perticular date that I'm too thick to remember. This means that Strabo's having to pick through files in the backup, so we can get our precious Straboard back up-to-date as possible. Thankyou for your impatience and inhospitablity. RB |

When we do upgrade I'm afraid the mods will stop working
but don't worry. Me and Tim will share the load, I'll
start with simple ones for him at first so he can become
used to the format, then I'll throw big things at him

MS Longhorn (the next rung on the microsoft operating
system ladder) has been in beta for ages, and as we all
knew, Longhorn was just its 'codename'. They have now
given it a real name, Vista...Microsoft Vista...*sigh*
oh well... (XP's codename was "Whistler" for anyone who
cares and the next one will be code named "Blackcomb"...
basically, Whistler is a mountain in British Columbia.
Longhorn is a saloon located at the base of Whistler
mountain, between Whistler & Blackcomb. Simple really)
Microsoft have released a Beta of this which can be
downloaded from their website if you have a MSDS username
and password (its what you use to log into hotmail).
Although, I cant actually seem to find a link to download
from their website. It seems the web designers are
compitent as their software developers.
So if, like me, you cant be bothered to spend 3 days
poking around the microsoft website, a quick google
search finds a few sites where Beta 1 is availible for
free download (thanks to beta testers leaking it
)
Although, Beta 2 isexpected in early December. The
current offical date is December 7th is the official
quote, but we all know thats a lie especially as its 2
months earlyier than initially expected. Paul Thurrott
of WindowsITPro said "Vista Beta 2 is scheduled to be
'feature complete' by September 29 2005. Then Vista Beta
2 will enter lockdown mode between October and November
9 2005. After that date, Beta 2 will be in escrow.
Microsoft now plans to ship Windows Vista Beta 2 on
December 7 2005." He later also stated "Microsoft
will ship Windows Vista RC0 (Release Candidate 0) on
April 19 2006, and Windows Vista RC1 on June 28 2006.
Microsoft currently plans to release Windows Vista to
manufacturing on August 9 2006, and make the product
broadly available by November 15 2006."
The new version of Vindows came along with the line
"Clear, Confident, Connected: Bringing clarity to your
world". The clarity refers to the way Micrtosoft have
used semi-transparent windows. A technique which can so
easily crash and burn in their faces and annoy the hell
out of 90% of the worlds computers.
SO where can we download it? EDonkey and BitTorrent have
it, obviously, as do a load of the other sharing
networks. If you dont trust them, then google it.
After reading reviews and stuff from the Beta testers,
it seems...that one or 2 people are being reminded of
Windows 95 by this release. Ah well, what goes around
comes around.
